Saturday Night Live Parodies Google Glass

Let the Glass parodies begin! Wearing what looked more like a stapler than the high-tech Google Glass gadget, “Saturday Night Live” comedian Fred Armisen “demonstrated” how discretely Google’s new gizmo can be used. Appearing as tech blogger Randall Meeks, Armisen tried to show Weekend Update host Seth Meyers how to use the wearable computer, with a series of head twitches and repeated voice commands.

Audiences have decribed Armisen’s hilarious send up as “a kind of tech-induced Tourette’s Syndrome,” but real world users will find Glass nothing like. When Google Glass was passed out to around two dozen people sitting in the crowd, none of them had too much trouble navigating the piece of fancy eyewear.

But as far as parodies go, this “White Men Wearing Google Glass” tumblr is pretty spot on, for now.

  1. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these despite their “ridiculous” appearance/command scheme. Would love to just have a new toy!

  2. Honestly, I have no idea what Google Glass does or claims to do…
